In May 2022 European Commission presented REPowerEU plan, which sets out a series of measures to rapidly reduce EU's dependence on Russian fossil fuels by accelerating the clean, renewable energy transition and diversifying energy suppliers. This creates a new economic reality and opportunities in the region, where Georgia has a chance to become an important player in production and transporting of the renewable energy. Although the energy potential of the country is still quite untapped, we believe that good strategy and proper planning will improve the situation in the near future.
