BEMONI ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION LLC together with its partner YEO TEKNOLOJİ ENERJİ ve ENDÜSTRİ A.Ş participated in and was declared as the winner on July 19th, 2023 of the tender on Procurement of operations for design and construction of 500/110/35/10 kV Idliani substation - organized by Georgian State ElectroSystem.The contract has already been signed.

The project was initiated within the framework of the “Ten-year Network Development Plan of Georgia” triggered by the increased power generation and consumption in Georgia. Installation of Idliani-500 substation is another step forward towards power stabilization of the energy network of Georgia and turning the state into an energy hub.

It should be noted that Idliani-500 substation shall be the first closed 500kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) not only in Georgia but in the region as well. The advantages of a GIS are its small dimensions, simplified operation and uninterrupted operation in unfavorable weather conditions. Idliani-500 is one of the largest substations of this type found in the region, unique with its magnitude and modern technology application.

The project will facilitate the introduction of new technologies and the highest international standards into the Georgian power sector. Depending on the scale and specific nature of the project, apart from the qualified BEMONI and YEO personnel, the project implementation will engage specialists from other countries at both the designing and construction-installation stages.
