Unlike conventional energy sources, solar energy is cheap and virtually inexhaustible. Moreover, it is the most environmental friendly, as solar energy does not emit toxic substances or contaminants into the air and does not generate waste or contaminate water. If using this energy will reach substantial scale globally, it will contribute to a significant reduction in CO emissions. Electricity obtained from solar energy can be used both by connecting to the common network and by individual consumption. Producing electricity through solar energy and its efficient use contributes to sustainable development.
Solar energy is converted into electricity using various modern technologies, such as photovoltaic systems (solar panels) and thermal energy concentration systems (lenses and mirrors). It has been estimated that the annual sunshine duration in Georgia is about 2200 sunny hours, which is several hundred times more than the data of some European countries producing solar energy. Therefore, in the case of good planning Georgia really has the potential to diversify energy sources and gain the energy with solar energy. This might be a relatively long-term perspective, however, Bemoni is ready to actively engage in construction and planning of these works as well.
